AFK Journey Game Basics

AFK Journey combines Idle elements to an Adventure RPG style game. There are 4 main factions: Graveborn, Lightbearer, Mauler and Wilder along with the Hypogean & Celestial. By having multiple heroes of the same faction on your team, there is an additional ATK & HP bonus.

Also keep in mind certain factions have strengths and weaknesses toward other factions.

Hero Levels

In AFK Journey, your Heroes will have something called Resonance Level. Your Resonance Level is equal to the Lowest level of your top 5 heroes. All other heroes you own will automatically be the same level as your Resonance Level. So through out game play, you only need to level 5 heroes and all other heroes will match the lowest level of the 5 you choose to level up.

Hero Ranks

You rank up heroes by using duplicates, so it is important to keep collecting duplicates from pulls so you can rank up. Hero ranks go from Elite (A-Level) > Elite+ > Epic (S-Level) > Epic+ > Legendary > Legendary+ > Mythic > Mythic+ > Supreme > Supreme+ > Paragon. Heroes gain their EX Weapon ability at Mythic+, so it's best to try to rank up heroes to at least Mythic+ to unlock their strongest abilities.

• Ranks based on Heroes at Mythic+ rank where their EX weapon is unlocked and they reach their full potential.
• Ranks does not take in to account seasonal skills & effects that may make some heroes stronger/weaker.

AFK Journey Beginner Tips

• Make sure to continuosly improve your AFK Progress daily to gain more rewards when you're offline.
• Participate in Dream Realm every day to gain Dream Fragments to buy A-Level hero copies in the shop & Essences needed to rank up Heroes' skills.
• It's important to set your Wish List to optimize hero development when using invite letters. As a new player you'll want to get as many of the strongest heroes to Mythic+ to unlock their EX Weapon ability. For S-Level heroes, you'll want to make sure to have Vala, Smokey & Meerky, Eironn, Cecia & Thoran on the Wish List. For A-Level, its recommended to have at least Korin, Marilee, Odie & Arden on the List for a good balance of early & late game power.
• Join a Guild early to get access to the Guild Store and earn guild currency to buy Hypogean & Celestial heroes over time.
